me time

The world saw him as a music legend but to his wife he had secretly become a monster.
He kept locked she and the kids inside the house whenever he went to one of his outings.
Not only that, he barred her from saying a word to the media concerning that. If I was to describe her to you I would say she was; a tall, slender, young woman who loved her bob more than she did her weaves.

The door outside his house so a loving and caring career man who made time to be
with his family and took it out whenever he had made time. Yes! He will just jot relaxation time downon his diary as; 'me time.' Me Time meant family time as his assistant soon got to learn one afternoon when she got to do all  business decisions concerning her boss -- alone. But, as always, got scolded for doing this and that wrongly. She was used to him more than his pursuits knew him and had to countlessly and effortlessly be there for her when he claimed the goings to be tough on him.

So, still on that assistant, I would to ask you to leave her all alone or at least for now
because this story has got nothing to do with her but, her abusive boss. He swept this young, promising, woman on her feet the first day they met and she will never forget how wonderful, a passionate night was. That is what she says when I listen to her carefully narrating her love story to her equally carefully listening friends. That he is a man amongst men in bed,a stallion of note who knows how to strike correct notes.

I can say many men wish to hear a woman telling them that he is doing them right. Right?
Whether you agree with me or not, someone has to tell friends if they are or are not satisfied with their partners bed performance. Some then lose them to more experienced friends, others their friends due to their loved ones having found out from them how lousy they are in the sack-- through people on the streets. I too will show someone's daughter the door if I get to learn through the streets how below par I am.

Now again, this story is neither about you or I. Or you and I.

He court her when she was a measly, naive, eighteen year old and started taking her out on a date. Cautiously so because was a first year university medicine student. She had all that she needed as her father was a well-known and an astute businessman, who hardly went to be without having had called his loving, wonderful, young woman, in his life. The apple of his eyes who he thought will give his friends daughters a run for their money due their laxity. They were the type who seemed to have no ambition in this life except brag about how rich their parent were.

The fool started hitting her whenever he felt like. It was when she opened a case of assault on him that the world of music started realising why she always wore make up and a pair of dark shades even in dark, hotel rooms and foyers, and every other celebrity parties she got to attend with him.

His father got to learn about his daughters ordeal through a newspaper and vowed to send his pack of wolves to go break his ribs. But, as always, his daughter stopped him from laying his hand on another disappointing end to a relationship. When she left him to go back to live with her parents, she and he had two lovely, young babies. And it was five years on since he proposed marriage to her but, his punches made her think twice about all of that.

A court judge gave her custody to her children and his live in lover a hefty five years suspended sentence. Although that was neither enough to he and his father, at least justice had been served to other young women who had neither money nor the guts to fight him in a court of law.

Apart from that, she supplied him with young women to suck his bank account dry by asking him out countlessly during a period when he was being snubbed by parties, and music festival organisers. He went back to his neighbourhood were his life slipped further down the celebrity pecking order to a has-been.

While his life was going down quicker than wheels of a rolling cart down the hills, hers was flourishing in every way imaginable. She made house parties with her friends every other week.Their two kids grew up in a very happy environment.

naked eyes

'I'm calling you to tell you that I'm in possession of you and your concubine's cellphone video clip,' she says. and I'm not too sure if your dear, beloved, wife, will love it.'

'Who are you and what do you want?' he replies.

' Shame. I had thought that you'd have guessed who I'm by now. All the things they've been saying about you on the streets, are a result of my quest to get back what's been owed to I all those years. I wake up in the middle of the night and ask myself one question all the time; where's he?'

'What do you mean?'

'I ask myself how did you let me slip from your fingers, damn it! Now, listen to me clearly, you're mine and nothing is going to split us. Do you hear what I'm saying?'

'Vivian you're one crazy woman, you know?'

'I wanted to make you a man and you brushed my love proposal aside just to be with a stranger. After I'm finished with you, you're going to regret it for the rest of your life, trust me. I'm one of those women who doesn't take no for an answer. You should've thought about it before you crunched me up. All I'm looking for now, it's payment for all that you've done to me. I see you and Kerry strolling at parties and I ask myself one question; why did I let her have you.'

'What you're doing is just plain old jealousy. Why in this world so big can't you get yourself a man?'

'Deposit forty thousand rands into my account before banks close this afternoon or kiss your career good bye. Failing to do that will hit her hard too because you're one flesh.'

'Please don't do that to us.'

'Remember when you denied before a packed hallway that you don't know me from a bar of soap?'

'Okay, I'll deposit whatever figure you want as long as you can promise me that you'd leave us in peace after that.'

'I promise to leave you in peace as long as I don't get to hear from any of you.'

'That's impossible.Since you know that we're always in the public's eye so you leave me no choice but, to give you a green light to forge ahead with your inhumane plan.'

She hangs up on him.

'Hello, Martha, are you still there?'

No reply comes forth.

A day goes by and he still has not told his wife, not reported the threats to a nearest police station, but threatening and explicit smss of demand keeps trickling in.

He tells his wife what hell his in.

Together they go to a police station to open a case against a woman pursuing him the wrong, hurtful, way.

After that he agrees to meet her at the nearest eatery to give her the money in person as bank charges will eat most of it.

she agrees and does arrive a couple of minutes late.

The couple introduces a man to her as a family friend. She is glad to meet him and is not asking about the money. All that she is waiting for, is for Kerry to shift one moment or two from she and Jack's sight before she could talk about her standing offer.

When does move a outside to go light up a cigarette, she asks her husband where the money is.

'Where's the money we've agreed on?' Vivian asks Jack.

'I don't have any money to spend on any woman except my wife. You can do whatever you like. Even going to the cops won't help your cause. So, if you'd excuse us, I, Kerry and Oliver would love to make this a special day to remember.'

'I'm going to distribute the clip on all networks, call all radio stations and contact journalists of different publications and let them know what is it that I'm in possession of.'

'Like I told you previously, I don't have no more money to spend on strangers. So if you'd excuse us, we'd like to enjoy this family gathering without having to worry about extoters.'

'Fine!'

She pushes the chair under the table and kicks the table.

Detective Sergeant Oliver Human, steps from his chair and cuffs her; 'You've the right to remain silence. Anything you say from now on may be used against you in a court of law.'

He whisks her away to his parked, plateless, police car, opens a back door and orders her to get inside.

When all that happens, the lovebirds walks past the detective sergeant's car and wink at her. The mall is now almost at standstill as workers, guards, shoppers and anyone who are witnessing her  arrest cannot believe that all that is happening right before their naked eyes.

A FRIENDLY REMINDER

'Where did you get all of that from?' Mary-Jane asks his tired looking boyfriend, Cyril.

'From the streets, babes,' he replies.

She keeps queit.

'I can't believe that the world has put so much strain on us,' he continues.

'You're to blame for all of this,' she replies. If you didn't act all heroic, I'd still living under my parents roof as their one and only trusted daughter. Now, we live like dungeon dragons in this petty part of the city where a soul is found dead on the street every other day of the week.'

'I'm not all happy about all of this but, at least this should be the place to raise our kids at. I go to sleep engulfed by the noise of hooting cars and sometimes a brave owl above our only tree in this yard, a peach-tree. I'm also getting tired of this life but, I wont go back home to the township to be eaten alive by the poverty scourge.'

'You may think you're a cellphone repairman but, to I you're only a newby crook who's sick scared of jailtime.'

'Be careful, hey. some walls have ears and your wish of visiting me behind bars may just well come true.'

'At least I sell no technology. Thus, I've no stress of police asking me unkind questions. Do you know that I'm beginning to get irritated by the Gangster Girl name tag I've just been given by passersby?'

'Don't listen to any fool. Just do your selling job with aplomb. I'll give you some of my wares to sell tomorrow. Plus, I wont be going to the market anytime soon.'

'Why, what's the problem?'

'Derrick has been taken in for questioning earlier this morning.'

'Why?'

'An elderly woman came riding with the police fingered her as a suspect who robbed her of a her cellphone more than a year ago.'

'Why then should you feel scared?'

'I was with him hours before that and was seen with him several times by the police because we work on the same spot.'

'Do you think they'll come after you?'

'Possibly so. I should've stayed and kept queit while they bundled him at the back of the police van but, I took my goods and hit the corner.'

'Why did you run away?'

'I thought he'd finger me as one of his partners in crime.'

'Why aren't you calling him to hear what happened to him this morning?'

'It's no use. He'll be rude to me if he gets to answer his phone.'

'Can you go out to the supermaket to buy us milk?'

'Us?'

'Yes. I'm tired of eating meat. I hope you're as tired as me.'

'Yes.Although today is risky, I'll go.'

'Thanks.'

A few minutes after he has left, she hears a heavy knock on their living room's door.

'Who are you?' she asks.

'It's I sargeant Ron Mills, comes a reply. Please open this door, young lady.'

She does.

A tall, black figure walks in grinning from ear to ear.

'How may I help you s-i-r?' she stummers.

'Well,' he replies slamming he body against the couch's softness. I'm here to see your man. What did you say his name is?'

'Cyril?'

'Yes. I've got nothing much to tell him beside friendlily warning him to stay away from Derrick. That young man is so troublesome that we've put him on the police watchdog list. I don't know if your boyfriend knows but, that young gun has trialed for over fifteen months over a man slaughter suspicion. Now we're investigating him over a series of mugging incidents.'

'Huh?'

'Take, this is my business card and it would be of good use to you whenever you're in some kind of trouble.'

'Thanks.'

'Tell you boyfriend to keep calm. I saw him quickly folding his table early this morning, got called and   informed by my informants about his hiding place but, though pressured by my colleagues to pursue him, I told them to let the boy go on about his business of selling.'

She gasps as she watch him close the police van driver door and drive away. Next to her set a very beautiful police woman who could make bullets melt. She locks all doors and windows except the bathroom's one and stands against the window looking at passing vehicles and people on the streets.

A door opens and closes.

'It's you!' she says animately. I knew you'd come back alive. I knew.'

He looks depressed.

'Ron Mills was here,' she continues. He says they had arrested your friend early this morning. But it seems like there was no information to pin him to the crime they were suspecting him for. He offered a friendly reminder to you; You should play or work as far from him as you possibly could.'

'I agree. He doesn't even want to talk to me for now.'

A right to remain silent

'Bob, says Steyn. I've never seen or heared from Janine for a while now.Especially over the weekends. This love of us may be coming to an abrupt end.'

"I've heared your rhetoric before,'he replies. "But everytime I ask you to ditch her, you both accuse me of being jealous and stiff. Many a girl around here does a lecturer at his or her staffroom over weekends. Your girl may not be an exception. You better take care of her or she'll soon find herself ostracised from social gatherings by most people.'

"What do you mean by when you say she may not be an exception?'

'Where I come from, there was this girl. Agewise we could for argument sake say she's below twenty nine years of age. She's a good friend of mine and as you may now, most ladies panic when they're aging. None of them want not to reach the age of thirty still single. Twenty nine years is then their barometer.'

'You're way too slow to get to the point. My beer is getting cold.'

'She used to sleep with one rich, famous lecturer at my former University. She woke up on morning nauseous and in her room. He was nowhere to be found. She didn't mind till she saw blood on her sheets. Since she didn't ask for it, she was well aware that what had happened to her was date rape.'

"Shit!'

'She thought raising alarm about her would make people suspicious of her intentions because they were according they, lovers. She decided to wash off all the evidence which might have help the police in stringing bits and pieces of her ordeal together.''

"Stupid!''

''Do you think Cole bonks my girl?''

""Why not?' She's scared to tell you about their little secret.Like most of them, she's clearly head over heels with petty material things she buys her, bills she foots because you're too poor to provide for her.''

''Yuck. I know I'm supposed to show some solitude in all of this but, I'm beginning to feel nothing for her.I once found them all lovey dovey inside his vehicle. They both smelt of fish. When I ask  them what's going. They pretend to have had playfully massaged each other with fish oil. Even a kid couldn't believe the shit they were telling me. I asked her to accompany me home. The smell on her body was still there and made many an adult disgusted. I asked her to wash it off. To I, it was clear they had made love. She asked me to make love to her and I declined. She then unwrapped the towel from her waist and ran to the police station half naked. I got arrested and spend eight hours in police cells over a false statement she gave them. The trick called me and apologised a day later when she heared I was tired of her shit and was preparing to head back to campus.''
''Doctors says a woman's inner skin must have a tear or two to create a strong DNA case against a sex perpetrator. A judge must then be in touch with reality facts and understand victims of rape's health state in order to conduct a thorough conviction.''

''You've said it all. Do you watch criminal programmes?''

"A lot.''

A knock on the door.

Both of them chorus: '' Come in!''

A figurine almost falls on the floor. Her clothes and hair is all messed up. Upon close investigation,it is her.

Steyn begins to cry.

They pick up the pieces and drive her to hospital on Bob's vehicle.

The doctor inspects her and calls the police to hand them her DNA samples. The culprit is nowhere to be found. He arrives at the campus early Monday morning in high spirits and plainclothed police officers pounce on him. The crowd is cheering them on.

They read him his right; You have a right to remain silent, you have aright to make a call to your lawyer, attorney or anyone else you feel would be of assistance to you in this mess you find and have put yourself in,you have a right not to contact the victims or their families in any other way and a right not to hinder us in the execution of our duties.

''Yippee!'' celebrates Chloe. The bastard has been arrested.''

"It's too premature to cork champagne,'' Bob warns her. Your friend is still to convince the judge that she's truly a victim of crime.Knowing her all too well, she may have sliced her wrists in order to blackmail him to succumb to her otherwise, never ending needs.''

''Why are you like this?''

"I don;t know. Just come over here and give me a hug.''

At  Steyn's apartment life is fun. He and his estranged girlfriend are all cuddly in bed.

"I still can't believe you pulled this one all too well, my love,'' he tells her.

'When I made up that fish story,' she replies.''I was pulling a wool on his eyes. He then started thinking that you and I are fools. I asked him for money to go do my hair he refused, I asked him for a night time out and he declined while mentioning his live in lover's name. I lead him on and just when he thought he could've his cake and eat it, I became violent. No one would know the whole truth except when I decide to act clever on you. Isn't it nice?'

'It is, my love.''

Gill Marcus'stuff

'You've got money with you isn't it?' Strap asks his enemies in the dark.

'Yes we have,' one of them replies.

'Can you see me?'

'Yes we see you, man.'

'Okay. Carefully walk my direction but first and foremost, place your weapons on the ground. Try anything funny and you are dead meat. Do you hear me?'

Thought they replied not, instructions were carried with aplomb.

'My name is Kurt,' their leader cooed. 'My boss's daughter is so filthy even our neighbourhood's dogs. Those who take fun in trampling on,mankind, rubbish bins and their ilk would curse the day they were born if ever they came to lock eyes with her.'

After he concluded saying controversial statement, the young woman failed to hold back her emotions and cried out loud to her captors annoyance.

'She's the reason we're all here,' Strap says as if touched by his adversaries words. 'I find it ironic and unfortunate that those who had failed to protect her, see no wrong in mocking her. This just shows that God sent us to teach you manners.By the way, without further or due, put the money forward.'

'Uh,'Praise says smelling the sweet aroma,a smell of which only new money is full of. This is Gill Marcus'stuff or should i say big fives?'

'It's on!' Tolerate gave out orders to her female hostage. 'Run girlie run!'

He fires a couple of shots to the sky while watching gangsters run like cartoon, their head-gear hitting the ground one at a time with no chance of them picking them up.

'Shit!' Pristine says to Stephina and Kurt. 'This automobile is out of gears. What do we do in this situation?'

'Oh my God take my soul,' Stephina interjects fighting back tears. 'I guess this was meant to be.'

They gladly watched as the enemy treaded back to their vehicle.

Upon calculating a couple of thousands, Strap smiles and sips a twelve year old cognac straight from the bottle. Later on his face changes, eyes become red as if to emulate a burning furnace.

'Fools!' he exclaims hitting the table. 'We've been played for fools.'

'Conned?' Tolerate asks.

'Yes. Eighty percent of our loot is fake!'

'We should've let Praise count it before we handed him back Steph.'

'It's all your fault. I'm your leader and I've struggling to get back to my best since shootout with the police a month ago.Maybe one or all of you fools are collaborating with the enemy to topple me. On that note, I got to say, all the money belongs to me.'

'Boss!'

'What?'

'You can't do this to us on a new year's eve.'

He packed his backs and left with they still trying to figure out which of the said counterfeit might be real.
Greed did not get him far in life. Was driving on a quite gravel road when sirens wailed behind him. He looked at his rearview mirror and there they were---the boys in blue inside a white and blue car, flicking headlights as a sign for him to stop. He accelerated and woke up in the hospital under a heavy police presence.

Damn! He thought to himself. Only if I had stayed for the night.

but he is wise though

'I may be rich but,' quips Russell.'Elders keeping on making their kids example make my stomach turn.'

He started off as a very poor boy frowned upon by members of the society. When he grew up girls did
not care to say hi. Did not get out of the yard a lot and as a result became a target of bullies. One fateful evening he said to himself: enough is enough! That happened after turning down a Gangster Anonymous invitation for over two years. Had heared painful stories about them harassing innocent people in the township.

As fate would have it, the same guy who used to slap him around like he was some sort of a lifeless doll, did it again and this time; in front of a girl he sought to make his long-time lover, over a,take a deep breath, fifty cent. He looked around, wiped his blood-dripping nose with his shirt and walked away angrily. All the confidence he had had in his faith withered like autumn leaves. Tears ran down his cheeks as he entered his parents' yard. Anyone who at that moment was looking at him, sensed trouble, harassment, had taken place.

A lot of those who were used to seeing Gangster Anonymous, mugging and slapping people around for the fun of it, thought he was their victim and the police, as always, could do zilch about it. Russell took a deep breath, place his beggar-bag atop the refrigerator, opens its door, reaches for ice-blogs he used to ease the dripping on his bloodied nose.

'I can't let him get away with this!' he says out loud like a maniac.

Went outside to his garden and started digging by the corner of the fence. Out came a rusty dagger of which he quickly concealed with a piece of cloth. A smile appeared on his face, started whistling and did household chores as always. Those who seen him not enter the yard thought maybe, he had heared good news from afar. His elders who tipped him to avoid walking on the sun as it might cause endless headaches and or a blood-dripping nose, were of the view that he did not listen or maybe what was happening to him has due to unfortunate, natural circumstances.

They advised him to wear a key around his neck to ward off evil spirits, the sun's troublesome UV-rays.Does not follow the rules, but he is wise though--his teachers would say in his report-card.

Upon doing all that is required from him, asks for money to go watch a bioscope at a church adjacent to their home.Parents refuse as knowingly, it would end just before midnight. Asks to spend time with his neighbour and that was approved. Went to the garden, picked his dagger and put it under his jacket. Camille opens the door and smile at him before asking him to sit down. Her brother Daryl, sits behind a coffee table and eat supper.

'You aren't afraid of the dark, hey?' he asks him.

'Not quite,' he replies.

'War Bus is on circuit, aren't you going to watch?'

'I don't have money.'

'I'm going to sleep. Worry not, this is your home.'

'I know.'

As Camille came back from the kitchen, she found the living room deserted. Knew that her brother was asleep but got worried about a neighbour who had somewhat disappeared into thin air.

In no time women in the streets were begging and screaming: 'Don't do it, please don't do it.'

He punched holes on his enemies body a la SCREAM--the movie. Wasted ten years in prison but got out self-educated enough to be an astute entrepeneur and a faithful husband to Camille.

outgrown each other

Being single is no child's play as harry found out over the years. he had been lonely not out of self but, because the odds where stacked against him. if you looked at him from afar chatting with young women, you could swear he was in love with one. a silly woman three street apart from his, was rumoured to be after his suffering. no eve wanted to be in love with him.no matter how hard he tried, no adam's feminine gender gave him a chance. he started becoming recluse and reading bible a lot. at the same time he washed cars of thugs who he hung with to get loneliness out of the back of his mind. he began choosing ladies without informing them first.because of his looks they obliged. he would love them and live them in a lurch. those who felt the wrath of his betrayal, starting forming vengeance schemes.

they caught him just when he was about to put a ring to a finger of Giselle, a beautiful urban woman of colour.
'Harry,' she tells him.'I think you and i have outgrown each other. I've found a good man to fall in love with. all that i'm asking for is for you to continue your gangster ways without me.'

'What?' he replies.

'You heared me sweetie. Besides, you can't control your eyes and that makes me sick!'

'Mynah and Elise put you up to this, isn't it?'

'You're wrong, my love. I can't have a thug fathering my child. It's either you mend your ways for the next woman or feel the wrath of the courts.'

'For what?'

'For forgery. I've been receiving text messages from the bank for eight months and each time an amount of thousand rands has been withdrawn. Been to the bank and they say no foul play as far as street crooks are concerned.'

'Jury told me you've been swimming in a pool of cash, Mynah showed me a video of you and her making love, Elise sent pictures of you and her dining at Sixes & Sevens. You make no money no more from drugs sales as the police have arrested your partner in crime in Yeoville. This means you've not making much money to cheat on me therefore..............'

'Don't..........'.

Just as  he was about to give her a piece of his mind, a police officer yelled: 'Freeze, you have the wright to remain silence, a wright to an attorney, anything you do or say may be used against you in a court of law!'
